㊲私のニューラナーク物語 その7／15 －ニューラナークにて－
ホテル（写真：左垂れ幕／保全トラスト協力グループ名）での一夜が明けて、今日(2008.7.13)は施設巡りです。「性格形成学院（Robert Owen's School/Historic Classroom）」だけでなく、「オーエンの家（Robert Owen's House）」や「工場で働く人々の家（The Millworker's House）」、「村の売店（The Village Store）」を見学の予定です。施設は10：30にならないと開きませんので、朝食をゆっくり楽しむことにしました。「伝統的なスコットランドの朝食メニュー」から「全粒粉トーストパンにスモークサーモンやスクランブルエッグを添えたもの／燻製ニシンのバター焼き／サラダ」を注文。メニューには「arbroath」「lorne」と知らない単語があります。後で調べるとスコットランドの保養地や湾の名前で、食材を説明することばとして使われているものでした。定番のミルクティーも、お代わり！

Leaving the hotel in the morning (photo: the name of a maintenance trust cooperation group is written on the banner on the left) , I went to visit some tourist spots on July 13, 2008. My plan of the day was to visit Robert Owen's School/Historic Classroom, as well as Robert Owen's House, the Millworker's House, and the Village Store. As these places were to open at 10:30 a.m., I decided to take time to enjoy breakfast. From the traditional Scottish breakfast menu, I selected smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with whole-grain toast, sautéed smoked herrings, and a salad. On the menu, I found some words I did not know, such as "Arbroath" and "Lorne". I looked them up later and learned that they are the names of Scottish resorts and bays, used to explain ingredients. Of course, I had my teacup refilled with my favourite milk tea!
